Stuart Ackroyd
Stuart Ackroyd started making glass in 1984 and opened his studio in 1991, producing one off pieces, awards, commissions and several ranges of production work. All Stuart’s pieces of glass are hand blown in lead crystal, then selectively etched, ground, drilled hand polished by his highly skilled team, to reveal an inner chamber, or contrasting area of interest. Hand made glass pieces, by the very nature of the making process cannot be identical. Bubbles, lines, slight surface changes, or discolouration’s are characteristics of all hand made glass. They are not considered to be defects. |
