Sally J. Timms
Sally Timms took a course in Graphic Design at High Wycombe College in 1962. After graduation, initially, working in the packaging and advertising industries, Sally turned to freelance work in 1968. This was followed by work as a design artist for a Lithographic Printer. In 1989 Sally became Secretary to the Buckinghamshire Pottery and Sculpture Society, and in 1990 completed a 4 year part time Sculpture Course at Amersham College. Sally became the secretary of Visual Images - the organisation that arranges the annual Bucks Art Week events. The arts have always been an important part of Sally's life, many watercolour paintings have been exhibited locally. Some of her work is included in collections in America. An early interest in working with wood, led to sculpture and consequent work in clay and plaster. Most recently Sally has returned to painting but in an abstract form, demonstrating a desire to convey fleeting images, with harmony and balance using colour and line.
