Michael Richmond
Michael has been a full time potter for nearly thirty years, working on his own in his workshop in the village of Thrussington, Leicestershire. In recent years he has concentrated more and more on making birds, combining his hobby of birdwatching with his work, which is for him an ideal situation. He has over the years amassed a lot of information on glazes and clays, which has been useful in giving him a palette of colours in both mat and glossy glazes. He fires in both electric and gas kilns, giving him both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres which give him a wide range of textures and colours. |
