I take small sheets of freshly anodized aluminium, dye it and add patterns to it. I work on a sheet approximately 240x160mm. Sometimes I draw lines of colour on directly and sometimes I add patterns using the resist method. I typically might dip a sheet part of the way in to one colour, rinse it and then fully submerge it in another colour. I then cut and texture the sheet by passing it through rollers together with woven textile. Because these hand patterned, dyed and cut each piece will be individual and I can avoid making any two pieces identical to each other. - Lynne Glazzard |
