I have always made artwork, since I can remember and love working with mixed media, textiles, threads and paints especially. I am constantly experimenting with new ideas and techniques. My jewellery has developed through this experimentation and my fascination and love of colour, texture and sparkle. My starting point and inspiration are the many rocks and stones, which sparkle with iridescent, vibrant colour, with almost otherworldly quality. I try to re-create this through my textile work using fabrics, paints, threads, paper, hand and machine embroidery. In other work I use coloured plastics, fibres, paints and glitters or glass and paints. Each piece is unique and crafted with care and attention to detail. |
