Fiona Abercromby
Textiles artist

I trained at West Surrey College of Art & Design, Farnham, obtaining a 1st Class Higher Surrey Diploma in Art & Design (Woven Textiles) in 1980.

A Purchase Award from Northern Arts enabled the purchase of my first loom in 1982. Whilst tapestry weaver at West Dean Tapestry Studio, near Chichester, West Sussex I worked on two commissions for the Sculptor Henry Moore.

From 2003 I worked in Northampton Open Studios and became a member of the Northamptonshire Guild of Designer Craftsmen in February 2006. I have exhibited tapestry, weaving and hand knitting as well as run workshops in several parts of the country.
