Catherine Peddel
Catherine originally trained in the field of fashion design. After working on the factory floor, she married and raised a family. To fit in with the children she worked as a Learning Support Assistant. She took various commissions at this time, curtains, bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses. This she enjoyed and decided to take a further qualification to enable her to teach textiles. She now teaches part time to allow her the luxury of having time to herself and to be creative. Catherine loves the fact that her bags are environmentally friendly, as they are made using recycled fabrics. Each bag is individual and takes on its own character as they develop. She works with a basic shape and then lets the colours and techniques evolve. |
