My first taste of ceramics was a one off occasion in 1998 as a guest at an adult education class in Australia. The experience encouraged me to enrol at the Royal Forest of Dean College training under the auspices of Alistair Young and Jack Doherty. I gained a Distinction in both the BTEC National Diploma in Art, Design and Studio Ceramics and the Professional Development Certificate Course. I left the world of commerce in February 2002 to devote the majority of my time to clay work.

My pieces are thrown Limoge porcelain fired between 1260 and1280 Celsius in an electric kiln. I have often thought the highly specialised crystalline glaze on my bowls and bottles to be reminiscent of many natural themes. Including the soft lichen on the stones and trees of the Forest in which I live and work. It is very important to me that my work is well finished, tactile, visually appealing from any angle and for each piece to be completely unique.
