Amanda Ray
Amanda Ray is a self-taught jeweller from St.Ives, Cornwall. She learnt Raku firing techniques in the early 1990's whilst working with Cornish potter John Bedding. By the mid nineties Amanda was in her own workshop, designing and producing jewellery. Local contemporary art has influenced much of her work and recent experimentation with textures and earth coloured glazes is a result of a trip to Australia. Amanda likes also to include shaped and beaten silver in some of her pieces. A member of the Cornwall Crafts Association, she exhibits widely throughout the U.K.
